Fun Times

Last weekend 10/11, we took Dan's sister and brother-in-law to Kansas City's Rensissance Festival for the day. It was a lot of fun. We went last year and it had rained and we were a muddy mess, so it was much more enjoyable this year. The theme was MidSummer's Night Dream, so there were all these little and big faires floating around. We bought a little wizard holding a baby dragon made out of pottery. It was on sale because as an oil lamp it leaked, so my wonderful husband is thinking of ways to use it without it leaking. Go Dan! :) Janell bought this cool metal contraption to go in her hair. It reminded us of the metal thing that Ten Thousand Villages sells. Unfortunately for me, my hair is a bit too short to do anything with.
We ate some very fried veggies ( which did not sit well with me ALL DAY!) and Dan loved his coveted smoked turkey leg! It was fun to see all the different merchants selling period items. Dan and Don had a personal moment with Frankenstein!

After we had walked and seen everything at least one time, we went to the Legends Mall and walked some more. We stopped off at the Halloween Express- a store dedicated to Halloween, kindof odd, but fun. We went to the restaurant Cheeseburger in Paradise for supper, which we usually go to when we are in the area. We then hit Cabellas for some more shopping enjoyment. Then decided to come home instead of spending the night. We got back to Hesston around 12:30 AM and Don and Janell had another 30 minutes to Hutch. before they went to bed. It was a long but fun day!
