Yesterday afternoon, we went to McPherson in search of a doggie. We got to the animal shelter between hours so looked around for something to do. We saw a woman setting up a garage sale sign and we asked her what she was selling and where it was located. We ran our errands, and then went to the house. We got to talking and told her that we were in hunt for a dog. She told us that she and her husband had just returned a dog to the shelter because she was allergic to her. She said that she has all the dog's items and dog food that she would give to us (for a small fee). to make a long story short, we got the dog that she had. Peta- known now in our home as Gillian (former X-files actress) Peta Schroeder (GPS).
Gillian is a Rat Terrier mix and so sweet, very laid back and calm. She only barks when someone is at the door. She is almost completely white with a black patch on her left side and one on the right. She slept in her carrier last nite with occasional whines for attention then snuggled with us in the morning in our bed. Blackberry is not laid back or calm. He went bananas when we brought Gillian into the house for the first time. He has growled and hissed and is making me a bit annoyed. Gilly follows me around so if I get up to hang out with Blackberry, she follows me creating a huge problem! If you have any hints on how to make this transition smoother, we would be eternally grateful!
