Yea! I still have a Job! I'm still on the island, made it past the first tribal council. It will be a long summer. I'm a firm believer that the economy will recover despite gooberment intervention.
Oh, oh, oh, I heard a wood pecker today. Its in the neighbor's trees somewhere.
The "old" riding mower refitted with a 17hp ICE has always been hard to start. So, time to tinker! I rerouted the fuel lines to make the trip from tank to combustion as short as possible. I drilled into the intake manifold to gain an access port to vacuum. I'll run that line to the vacuum powered fuel pump. Um, that should do it.
The Manch's coolant system is finished. I redesigned the heater line routing, hoping that when the heater valve shut it doesn't need a bypass. I also inserted a pressure cap into the upper rad hose. I don't understand why Jeep thought the closed system coolant system was acceptable. One stuck thermostat and BOOM goes the coolant tank, it would make a fair colander now, but won't hold water. Problem solved, enter next mystery; the charging system decided to retire while road testing the cooling modifications. I turned off the lights and headed home.
Our old dairy barn is in bad shape. What does one do when the bank account won't help with a new roof, windows and siding? Must I remind you that my income source might dry up at any time? Would you want to invest in our highly neglected storage facility? "Put your treasures in a bigger barn instead of building more."
